Treasury Casino & Hotel, Brisbane
When constructed in 1996, this project was the largest and most complex heritage redevelopment in Australia. Two vacant Government buildings in Central Brisbane were refurbished into the Brisbane Treasury Casino and Hotel. Additionally, a park between the two buildings was removed and six levels of underground carparking and staff facilities were then constructed beneath the park level, with the park then being restored to the original design as established at the turn of the century. Major basement works beneath each heritage building were constructed to accommodate kitchens and stores with tunnel connection linking each building under the streets of Brisbane. GMP Management was appointed as Project Manager for this project which included management of the consultants, builder and commissioning of both the casino and the hotel.
Swissôtel Gold Coast Hope Island
GMP Management has been appointed Project Manager for the new Swissôtel Gold Coast Hope Island Hotel. The project comprises the renovation and refurbishment of the existing Golf Club and the construction of a new hotel with associated hotel facilities including Function and Meeting Rooms, Treatment Spa, Gym and Chapel. The project is in Concept Design stage.
Novotel, South Brisbane
GMP Management is the Project Manager, Superintendent and Hotel Consultant on the development and construction of the Novotel Hotel South Brisbane on behalf of an international Client. The hotel will meet the demand for a 4-Star branded hotel in the South Brisbane market. Hutchinson Builders commenced construction in November 2016 with the anticipated completion date being May 2018.
Watermark Hotel, Surfers Paradise
This hotel comprises 410 rooms and is located in Surfers Paradise. It was designed to accommodate the resort and package group hotel market at a price to ensure an acceptable return to the owner, whilst providing suitable accommodation for its intended market. Completed in mid-1990’s, it has proved a successful and profitable operation. Hotel facilities include restaurants, spa, meeting rooms and underground parking. GMP Management was appointed Project Manager for an overseas client.
Seaworld Nara Resort, Gold Coast
This project comprised a 400 room family style hotel located adjacent to the Seaworld Theme Park which is connected by monorail. The hotel was constructed in under 12 months at a construction cost of less than $30 million. The hotel has a height limit of three storeys and is located close to both the ocean beaches and the protected Broadwater. It comprises family accommodation with restaurant facilities, bars, children’s areas and a large lagoon pool.
Peppers Blue on Blue, Magnetic Island, Qld
This project comprises 157 luxury residences featuring 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units located at Nelly Bay, Magnetic Island, (off Townsville, Queensland). Additionally, restaurant, bar, spa and meeting facilities are included in the complex. Management rights were granted to Peppers, a boutique style operator of many similar quality resorts. A large lagoon pool is included within the complex, as well as a resort marina. Completed in late 2007 the developed cost of the project was in excess of $80m. GMP Management was appointed as Project Manager and Superintendent for the project.
Twin Towns Harbour Tower, Tweed Heads
A 197 apartment hotel, this was the second tower for which Ian Pert was responsible. A joint venture between Twin Towns Services Club and Baulderstone Hornibrook, this project contained substantial carparking to supplement the existing Club, retail, and a 15 storey resort residential tower comprising 20 serviced hotel apartments. GMP Management was the Project Manager for all facets of this $60 million project from concept through to completion and fitout.
Royal Pines Resort & Golf Course, Gold Coast
GMP Management was appointed Project Manager to undertake the redevelopment of Royal Pines Resort in 2002. The project comprised the removal of 9 holes of existing golf course and the lowering of the balance of the golf course with provision of 363 residential entitlements in Stage 1 as well as 350 entitlements in Stage 2. Also included was the approval of 3 high rise buildings comprising 214 units adjacent to the existing hotel.The work on site is approved under the Integrated Resort Act which is a State Government approval with an agreement with the Gold Coast City Council.
Hayman Island, Whitsundays, Qld
As Project Manager, GMP Management managed a multitude of projects including Beachfront Suites, Hayman Luxury Residences, Marina Residential redevelopment, Civil Works and Resort Landscaping. GMP Management was involved in the approvals, design and construction delivery of the various projects.
Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane
GMP Management was Project Manager, Superintendent and Quantity Surveyor for the construction and development of Four Points by Sheraton, Brisbane on behalf of an international Client. GMP Management has played a leading role in negotiations with international hotel operators, and in ensuring that the project designs have met operator requirements.
The project was successfully completed February 2014, with GMP Management responsible for all Superintendent services, project monitoring and reporting.
Twin Towns Services Club, Tweed Heads
Following the millennium tower extensions to the Club in 2000 for which Ian Pert was responsible, GMP Management was also the Project Manager for the new extension which included convention/auditorium space, 4 cinemas, new bars / restaurants and facilities. Stage 1 of the works comprising new Sports Bar, Atrium entry, Restaurants and Outdoor alfresco gambling is completed with further renovations ongoing.
Rydges Hotel, RNA Showground
GMP Management was appointed Project Manager, Superintendent and Quantity Surveyor for the construction and development of a new Rydges Hotel at the RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane. GMP Management had a leading role in negotiations with Council and various authorities in this complex urban location. GMP Management was responsible for all Superintendent services, project monitoring and reporting.
The project was successfully completed February 2016.
Mary Lane, Brisbane
GMP Management was appointed the Project and Cost Manager on this $200m development in the heart of Brisbane CBD. The project comprises ground floor spaces for retail and dining with The Westin Brisbane hotel occupying the tower and the luxurious Mary Lane apartments above. Construction commenced in 2016 with the project well underway. A newly constructed Sales Display is located in Margaret Street show casing the Mary Lane apartments. Anticipated completion is October 2018.
Swiss Bel Hotel & Peak Apartments, Brisbane
GMP Management was appointed the Project Manager, Superintendent and Hotel Consultant on this $50m development in Vulture St, South Brisbane. The project comprises a Swiss Bel Hotel together with the luxury residential condominiums above, the “Peak Apartments”. The project was successfully completed in December 2016.
Pullman & Ibis Conference Centre, Brisbane Airport
GMP Management was appointed Project Manager and Superintendent on this new hotel development within the Airport Precinct. The development consist of two hotel highrise towers, Pullman Hotel and Ibis Hotel, connected by a ground floor Conference Centre. This project requires various specialised approvals and close coordination with airport authorities. The project was successfully completed in October 2017.
